Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Enchanted by old black and whites of our family that lived in the plastic box in mom’s closet, the LIFE magazines on the coffee table that illustrated experiences outside of my own, and colored polaroids dad took of their family adventures, portrait and lifestyle photography was natural for me. Never comfortable having my own photograph taken, however, two different professional photographers - and masters of their craft - changed my life when they curated photography sessions for me and directed me to my center. The confidence & calm that emerged in front of their lenses did not align with my inner vision and I studied those images for years - using them as touchstones when I needed a reminder. It’s truly transformative when space is held in such a way that we can simply relax and breathe - the place where our light shines it’s brightest.
